Here is a picture of my Shy Blue. The leaves have gotten very small on the plant. One thing that it looks like is there is about 4 I believe what they call suckers growing all over the base of the plant. I have not cut them off yet, afraid to do it I guess. Any ideas why the leaves have gotten so small, and how to correct the problem?

Dear El G, I have a Shy Blue, it is about the same size as the photo of your plant. None of the leaves on my plant are are twisting, as in your picture.
I don't know for sure, others could also give you input. It's a nasty thing to say, but, if I were you, I would be very afraid of mite infestation causing the leaves to become small and perhaps twisting as growing. And, if the little nasties have been around long enough to allow the leaves to grow small. Think seriously about getting rid of the entire plant. Perhaps harvest just one or two leaves, that's still a risk.
If you keep a leaf, it needs to be decontaminated, being dunked for some minutes in some serious miticide wash, then repotting and isolating. Otherwise, toss your plant now and replace from a trusted source.
Conservatively treat and isolate any plants that have been in contact with this one.
Whatever you do, you need to follow some IMMEDIATE remedies. Sorry to shout. I want you to save yourself some time and effort and plants.

Thanks for the info. I have looked over the plant very well (magnifying glass) and have not seen anything on the plant. I repotted it with fresh soil not all that long ago. Maybe I'll cut the suckers off, and spray it with ortho yet.

The plant looks,as if it has several suckers on it.You can remove those, set them in small pots and let them root.I hope the info helps. If leaves come off in the process, don't worry,it will grow back.
