I am new to serious AV growing, and I am addicted. At first it was just buy every AV that I saw--after all, they were so easy. Then, it was fill every available space because they are so beautiful. Then, you find out that easy isn't always as easy as it seems!
I have gotten myself under control (not really) and made 'The Plan.' That is another word to describe an excuse to acquire more AVs.
So, I have found this forum, and am looking for help--taking good care of what I have, and acquiring plants only according to 'The Plan.'
I love variegated foliage, the less green on a leaf, the better I like it. I love bells, wasps and chimeras (blossom or foliage). So, I have a few of these, according to 'The Plan,' along with most of everything that I haven't been able to let go of, yet. They are all too beautiful.
I have gone to three meetings of a local club. It has been wonderful. There is so much support. I even went to our local show a couple of weekends ago--it was just the greatest experience.
I love AVs and have many other plants, too. Here's what else I have: cycads, palms, bromeliads, dioscorera and orchids. If anyone has any of these, I would love to talk and exchange.
I have gotten a 30 gallon indoor fountain to add humidity. It has a few acquatic plants. I want to add some waterlilies, but need more information from someone who has done this before. I have an idea of what Iwould like, but am afraid to put my toe into the water, so to speak.
Thank you all, Kiri
