Hello Everyone!
My name is Sue. I was searching for any info about growing Trailing AFs and I found (very happily) this new forum.
I've an interest in growing plants all my life. As a child I helped garden with my Dad, including growing vegetables, begonias, and geraniums from seed. I have continued this in my adult life--mostly with veggies and geraniums.
Recently diagnosed with arthritis and bulging disks in neck, I've cut back my outdoor gardening and started aqautic gardenig and now added an African Violet interest.
I'm disappointed I am not able to attend the NY state society show this weekend. Planning to make it to the one in Branford, CT. This weekend, I hope to pull my lights and shelfing out of the attic for my new violets. Excited to learn from you guys, Sue in CT

Hi,welcome to the forum! It's nice to have you!I hope you like the forum. What type of aqautic plants do you grow?I grow carnivorous plants, not aqautic but they like damp to wet soil.I will add a section for aqautic plants and maybe you can give some information on them.

Hi Sue, Welcome to the forum. One of the Mod's, Violetlover, will be able to answer any of your questions on growing AV's. She has a lot of experience and very knowledgable. She has helped me out tremendously. I got addited to AV's about 4 years ago and my plant number has grown greatly. I will do my best to answer any of your questions that you may have. I know that if I am wrong, Violetlover will correct me. I was very glad to see this forum open up, it will take a while for people to come. Glad to have you here. Mac

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Long overdue update: I went to the small show in Branford, CT. Everyone was so friendly. Turns out a local club mets within 25 minutes from my house. I drive by the lady's house often, so I am excited for the holidays to calm down and for me to start attending the get togethers. Mom and I bought 8 plants. My favorites were the little tiny ones started by club members. Rob's vanilla pink is my favorite find of the day.
